Can neurotechnologies support education?

Neurotechnologies are increasingly discussed in the context of education. It has been proposed, for example, to use non-invasive forms of brain stimulation to support the learning process, or simple devices monitoring brain activity as tools for diagnosing cognitive difficulties. Moreover, (neuro)educational influencers and entrepreneurs recommend using certain neurotechnologies at home — during learning or other everyday cognitive activities. But is this neuro-hype scientifically justified?

During Edu-Pomoc 26, our Director, Michal Klichowski, will present the findings of the world’s largest project seeking to answer this question. More than 3,000 people took part in the study, and its results carry important implications both for educational practice and for the regulation of neurotechnology use in education.
