Welcome to Cognitive Neuroscience Center
The Cognitive Neuroscience Center was established at Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznan in 2023 as a hub connecting cognitive neuroscientists at AMU. Our team comprises bioethicists, cognitive scientists, educators, lawyers, linguists, neuroscientists, philosophers, physicists, psychoacousticians, psychologists, and psychophysiologists.
We study various aspects of human cognition using research methodologies such as EEG, fMRI, fNIRS, tDCS, and TMS, as well as research paradigms that encompass behavioral, psychoacoustic, and psychophysiological experiments. Additionally, we conduct clinical trials involving neuromodulation and diagnostic protocols based on videonystagmography.
Moreover, we investigate issues related to philosophy of neuroscience and neuroethics, such as essentialist and reductionist biases in neuroscience research, epistemic and cognitive norms and pathologies, and neurodiversity. We are also interested in neurorights, especially concerning neurotechnologies.
Our interdisciplinary team of scientists is motivated by fundamental questions about human cognition. We value the principles of open science and employ technologies that enable us to explore the human brain while studying human physiology and sensory cognition.
